Are you heard?

Writing is easy:  All you do is sit staring at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead.  ~Gene Fowler

Whether we like it or not, sometimes we need to write well, just to get a seat at the table.

Our ability to communicate and express ourselves through writing often determines our success. A well-written cover letter, essay, or even an email can reward us with a job, a scholarship, or admission to the college of our choice. A good bit of copy can sell a product or service.

True, the practice of writing solves problems, creates new ideas, and brings light to our vision of ourselves and our world…it’s just not for everyone.

Unfortunately, due to differences in learning style and early experiences with oppressive teaching techniques, many of us fear writing or find it difficult, even painful.

I believe that writing ability is something learned, not something that comes naturally.  I started Seat-at-the-Table Writing to offer a variety of services to empower individuals and organizations through writing, coaching, editing, and facilitating creativity.

You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what’s burning inside you.  And we edit to let the fire show through the smoke.  ~Arthur Polotnik
